A. My creative work
The title of this piece is "I'm Not A Monster". It is a doodle with drawing pens and paper. I don't know why, but I really like this drawing, even though it is just a doodle. It is inspired by a song "Monster" from Korean boy band, Big Bang. This song is made by the talented leader of the group itself, G-Dragon. The song is actually about a man who was in love and wanted to show the girl he wasn't a monster anymore, however, they also wanted to show their cries out to their ex-fans because before the song is released, there were scandals revolving around the member and lots of fans are leaving them, because "they are not the same anymore". With the release of this song, Big Bang wants to show the world that they didn't change - they still love making music and entertaining people. I also want to carry that message in this drawing. That is why, I draw lots of cute and bubbly monsters. Monsters have been stereotyped as wicked and evil, but through this drawing, I want to show the other side of monsters, which is as adorable and playful as it can be.
B. Great Piece of Architecture
It is no doubt that this cathedral, Sagrada Familia, is one of the greatest piece of architecture in the world. It is designed by Antoni Gaudi, who was dead before his creation is entirely finished. I heard the story from my mother, who was an architecture as well, that Gaudi was dead because of a car accident. It is such a shame that this "magnum opus" will not ever be the same as the original architecture is died. When I visited there three years ago, I can really see all the details that Gaudi have put in every spots of the building. There are calligraphies, symbols, and all the sculptures that represent the significant event of Jesus Christ as portrayed in the Bible. It is funny that the front and the back side of the building are not the same; there are almost no continuities between them. The front part is angelic and gothic, with all the nest-like walls, while the back part is plain and simple, carved into straight lines figures. It is still under construction, and expected to finish at 2026. I'm looking forward to the future as I might go to Barcelona again to visit the finish product of this cathedral.
C. Original Photograph
This is my original photograph of the Library of Celsus in Ephesus, Turkey last August. It is really magnificent to see a very huge, ancient Roman library, is still present in this modern era. The back part of the library is entirely vanished because of the earthquake, however a massive restoration is done for the front part (facade). This library faces east, so it can get maximum exposure from the sun in the morning. As you can see here, there is a lens flare in the photograph, which conveys how the sunlight actually pierces towards the building. It is such a one-of-a-kind experience for me to be able to witness this historical building.
